SUMMARY: The federal government will pay 50 percent of the costs when the Police Department
purchases ballistic vests through September 30, 2011. The City received federal funds in the amount
of $2,450.00. Current costs for the vests are $800.00. Police on duty are afforded protection through
the use of safety and body armor.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount��Budget expenditures on vests over the next two
years will be reduced $2,450.00.
