SUMMARY: The COPS CHRP grant award allows the Police Department and City to preserve and
sustain law enforcement personnel staffing levels. The grant is from the Department of Justice,
Community Oriented Policing Office. No matching funds are required of the City. The total grant
amount is $831,339.00. According to the federal acceptance conditions, all officers funded under this
grant must be retained for a fourth year. The grant duration is July 1,2009 through June 30, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): None. The CHRP grant funding is a revenue
source for $831,339.00. It will provide dollars for preserving law enforcement staffing levels.
