"Gorst Sewerage" Project.

SUMMARY: The Gorst Sewerage Project will construct approximately 10,000-ft of sewer mains
within the Gorst Urban Growth Area. Development within the UGA has resulted in a number of
"land locked" properties that utilize private easements for access. Where more than one property will
be served by a sewer through an easement, the line is proposed to be constructed as a public sewer
main, rather than a private sewer lateral. In these instances, easements are required for the new mains.
Negotiations with the private property owners are on-going; a list of required easements is attached.
Staff propose the easements be granted to the City at no cost, with the City being responsible for the
cost of recording the easements. The requested action before Council is approval of easements for the
Gorst Sewerage project.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The 2009 Wastewater Fund Capital Budget is
$7,105,000. $1,280,000 is included in the current budget for the Gorst Sewerage Project.
