RESOLUTION NO. ?o ~~
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, authorizing application for federal
assistance for a Land and Water Conservation Fund (L WCF)
program project to the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO)
as provided in the L WCF Act of 1965 as amended.
WHEREAS, the City desires to make improvements to a city park known as
Kiwanis Park; and
WHEREAS, the City has approved a comprehensive plan that includes this
proj ect area; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the LWCF, federal funding assistance is
available to aid in financing the cost of land acquisition and\or facility development; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considers it in the best interest of the public to
improve Kiwanis Park as described in the application; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized to make formal application to the
Recreation and Conservation Office for funding assistance
SECTION 2. Any fund assistance received will be used for implementation of
the above referenced proj ect. ) .
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby certifies that it has secured funding for its
share of the project funding.
SECTION 4., The City Council realizes the City is responsible for supporting all
non-cash commitments to this project should they not materialize (if applicable).
SECTION 5. The City Council acknowledges that any property acquired or
facility developed with financial aid from the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board must
be placed in use for the funded purpose, and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless
otherwise provided and agreed to by our organization and the RCO Funding Board, and the
National Park Service.
SECTION 6. This application becomes part .of a formal application to the RCO.
SECTION 7. City Council provided adequate opportunity for public comment
on this application.

SECTION 8. City Council acknowledges that L WCF grants are federal funds,
and as such, the City of Bremerton must comply with all applicable federal laws.
SECTION 9. Severabilitv. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 10. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
