Purchase of E-one Grinder Pump Stations for the
Gorst Sewerage Project.

SUMMARY: Individual grinder pump stations are required for the Gorst Sewerage project. These
pump stations will be owned by the City. The new Engineering Design and Construction Standards
require grinder pumps to be E-one pumps. E-one pump stations were selected since they are an
excellent product with a proven track record, their standard product can perform in all known City
pump conditions, and also since Correct Equipment (E-one manufacturer's representative) is the only
known entity that will assume responsibility for operation, maintenance, and first response for grinder
pumps. The requested action before Council is approval of Resolution No. 3o~J- approving and
authorizing a sole source contract for purchase of individual grinder pump stations for the Gorst
Sewerage Project. .

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The 2009 Wastewater Fund Capital Budget is
$7,105,000. These pumps will be purchased in 2010 and do not impact the 2009 budget. 1'_
