Bremerton, Washington, amending Ordinance No. 5032 relating to
the City of Bremerton Fiscal Year 2008 Budget.
WHEREAS, the City Council passed the Fiscal Year 2008 City Budget Ordinance
(Ordinance No. 5032) on December 5, 2007; and
WHEREAS, all of the funds of the City of Bremerton with the exception of the
Police and Fire Pension (Fund 601) require amendment to adjust beginning fund balances to
actuals per the 2007 end-of-year financial reports; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously amended the budget by various
motions and resolutions subsequent to December 5, 2007 which require a formal amendment by
ordinance; and

additional expenses due to factors such as higher litigation costs, increasing fuel and energy
costs, and a significant reduction in anticipated Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) which impacts
several Departments and Funds; and

and expenditures to reflect delayed programs that result in reduced activity in 2008 and which
will be provided for in the proposed 2009 budget; and
WHEREAS, certain reclassifications of revenues and expenditures are required to
properly reflect budget categories in a manner consistent with actuals as classified in accordance
with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; and
WHEREAS, each of these actions has an impact on the City of Bremerton's FY
2008 Annual Budget resulting in the need to amend this Budget document;
