SUBJECT: Budget Adjustment to equip the
Fire Department Command Vehicle.

SUMMARY: In 2007 the Fire Department purchased a Ford Expedition to be used as a command
and control vehicle. This vehicle was approved and funded thru the safety bond for $30,000. This
cost only covered the base vehicle. The additional equipment (plus installation) to make this vehicle a
working command center is an additional $15,000. A budget adjustment is requested to the ERR fund
of$15,000. This will be taken from excess reserves from Fire Department vehicle 2140. This is
possible since replacement of2140 (in 2 years) will involve a smaller vehicle not requiring the full
reserves available in the 510.
