SUMMARY: The 2008 Budget surpluses one (1) ambulance from the Fire Dept. The Police Dept
desires to convert this vehicle into a Crime Scene Investigation vehicle. The old van used for this
purpose is a 1989 GMC Safari mini van, is scheduled for replacement, and has approx. $30,000 in
reserves available. It is proposed to utilize these funds to accomplish the retrofit on the surplus Fire
Dept. ambulance. The City received two written bids for this work. Approval is requested to award
the retrofit project to Trivan Truck and body, LLC of Femdale, Washington at a cost of$35,310.04
including sales tax. The Police Department will be responsible for the amount over the reserves
available in the ER&Rfund for the GMC van. There are no known local companies available to
perform this work.
ATTACHMENTS: Copy of bid from Trivan Truck Body, LLC
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): ER&R has $30,000 in replacement funds
available for this project. The remaining $5,310.04 will be the direct responsibility of the Police
Department.
