SUMMARY: The Arts Commission opened a Call for Sculpture Artists on October 1, 2008. The
Call closed on December 31, 2008 and resulted in 75+ artist applications from around the US. After a
lengthy selection process, the Arts Commission narrowed their choice to seven artists. CJ Rench is an
artist located in Hood River, OR. He has proposed a series of pedestrian scale sculptures titled
"Constellations" to be installed at the south entrance to Evergreen Rotary Park. Mr. Rench's artwork
was presented to the Parks Commission on March 31, 2009. The Parks Commission approved Mr.
Rench's work and supported the Arts Commission's effort to install public art in Evergreen Rotary
Park and along Pacific Avenue.
