Bremerton and'the Manette community a~ well as a uAiqu~
architectural feature in the harbor area. The new bridge
accommodates motorists, bicyclist~ and pedestrians. The
new bridge will be constructed using pre-cast concrete
elements and will i~clude arched bridge deck girders. The
new alignment of the bridge will run parallel and to the
south of the existing bridge from Wa~hipgton Avenue in
Bremerton to Wheaton Way in Manette. '

Architectural Opportunities',,;:'
W~POT re~Fzes the imp9rt~'nbe of ~hjs s,~nJcture to the
community. The ,haunched cO'ncrete girder structure,
supplemented by unique designs at available locations
along the bridge will provide another icon in the Bremerton
harbor. The .ships rail" design will be utilized for the barrier
along the bridge.
In this.time of high demanq for available funding, the design
of the structure will ailow fqr either pre-cast or cast in place
construction to optimize construction bids.
The arch bridge deck girders originally proposed during the
planning phase will continue to be carried forward in the
final design.
From an environmental perspective, the new bridge will only
have six in water piers as compared to the existing bridge's
eleven, an improvement for the marine environment.

Proposed Manette Bridge
Note: When the concrete is poured for the above areas, a mold or "form liner" can be used to create a permanent design on
the bridge's concrete surface. To be effective, these images will need to be fairly simple in form. Detail is neither practical for
this construction approach, nor would it be visible from a distance. >
