SUMMARY: The current animal control contract with the Kitsap Humane Society provides for
annual review of scope of services and compensation. The 2009 proposal only includes an increase of
up to four percent (4%) if licensing revenues are increased in 2009. The increase will be based on
additional licensing revenues collected and will not exceed four percent (4%) or $8,182.
The Humane Society staffhas indicated they feel they can raise revenues in licensing in 2009.
ATTACHMENTS: Original Contract, Amendment No.3, 4 and 5.
Humane Society Plan to increase animal licensing and revenues.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): $204,558.00 with an incentive up to $212,740.00
which is fully provided for in the adopted 2009 budget.
