RESOLUTION NO. 3079
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, approving and authorizing a sole source
contract for the purchase of four Dodge Avenger police staff
vehicles.
WHEREAS, BMC 2.76.090 provides exemptions to the competitive bidding
requirements for the City of Bremerton under certain circumstances where purchases are market
conditions or where bids would not be practicable or in the City's best interests; and
WHEREAS, BMC 2.76.040 provides for a local preference when reviewing bids;
and
WHEREAS, the City will save money by purchasing the Dodge Avengers locally;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to waive the bidding requirement and
authorize a sole source contract for the purchase of four Dodge Avenger police staff vehicles
from Bremerton Dodge; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The recitals set forth above are hereby incorporated as if set forth
herein in full.
SECTION 2. The bidding requirements for the purchase of four Dodge Avenger
police staff vehicles are hereby waived.
SECTION 3. The Fleet Manager is authorized to purchase four Dodge Avengers
from Bremerton Dodge in the amount of$16,895.00 each, including sales tax.
SECTION 4. Severa b ilitv. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
