CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES
Saturday, February 7, 2009
The Bremerton City Council Work Session was called to order in the City Council Conference
Room 603, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington,
Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 9:00 AM, with Council President Cecil McConnell presiding.
Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Will Maupin, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson,
Mike Shepherd, Roy Runyon, Adam Brockus, and Brad Gehring. Legislative Assistant Lori
Smith was present to provide staff support.
Council Members reviewed their "2008-2009 Goals & Priorities/discussed their 2009 Goals.
'Subjects included, and are summarized as follows:
1. Take home vehicles - Proposed reductions
2. Internal Auditor - Providing timely responses to audit findings
3. Energy Policy - Request a completed Energy Audit completed by June 2009
4. Property Management - Obtaining a list of City properties
5. Small Businesses - Ways to help small businesses; and providing an incentive to keep
business local
6. Need more attention to other areas of the City, not just downtown
7. Economic Development
8. Request periodic reports from Department Heads regarding progress on City Goals
9. Using Council Committees to review Agenda Bills; and improving the process
Council Members also discussed "Council Rules of Conduct"; and other Council Business which
included Council Office procedures.
