SUMMARY: The federal government will pay 50 percent of the costs when the Police Department
purchases ballistic vests through September 30, 2010. The City received federal funds in the amount
of$11,199.12. Current costs for the vests are $884.00. Police on duty are afforded protection
through the use of safety and body armor.

FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Budget expenditures on vests over the next two
years will be reduced $11,199.12.
