RESOLUTION NO. 3075
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, approving a change of hours of public
access to City offices as authorized in BMC 1.02.010.
WHEREAS, the provisions ofBMC 1.02.010 provide that City offices,
which routinely conduct business with the public, shall be open for the transaction of
business between the hours of8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. of each business day from
Monday through Friday, unless otherwise posted; and
WHEREAS, the City is contemplating closing public counters on Fridays at the
Norm Dicks Government Center and at other city offices as determined appropriate by each
department as a cost savings measure due to budget constraints; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves closing the public counters on
Friday of each week at the Norm Dicks Government Center effective January 1, 2009 until
otherwise posted.
SECTION 2. Department Directors will have the discretion to evaluate each
public counter and determine whether or not each public counter will be closed on Fridays or
otherwise beginning January 1, 2009.
SECTION 3. Public counters that will be closed will be posted with the dates
and times that each counter is open for public business.
SECTION 4. Severability. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
