SUMMARY: Bids were opened on Tuesday, September 16,2008 for Reservoir No. 21 - Interior
Coating Replacement Project. A total of eight (8) bids were received for the project (see attached Bid
Opening List).
The low bidder is Coatings Unlimited, Inc. from Kent, W A for the Total Lump Sum Bid of
$243,180.00. The total contract amount, including Washington State Sales Tax, is $264,093.48.
The interior coating estimate not including sales tax was $265,000 to $273,000.
ATTACHMENTS: Bid Opening List; Council Summary; Water Tank Coating Evaluation, dated 10-
30-06; and Reservoir 21 - Aerial Photo.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The Water Fund 401 Maintenance Budget listed
under "Structures & Grounds - 54830" in the amount of $343,000 shall support this project.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: That City Council approve the contract award to Coatings
Unlimited, Inc. in the amount of $264,093.48 including Washington State Sales Tax, and authorize the
Mayor to finalize and execute the Contract.
