The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City Council
, ~
Conference Room, in Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER located at 345 6 Street,
Bremerton, VVashington, VVednesday, August 27,2008, at 5:00 PM, with Council President VVill Maupin
presiding. Council members present were Nick VVofford, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Mike Shepherd,
Roy Runyon, Adam Brockus, Cecil McConnell, and Brad Gehring. Council Assistant Christine Grenier was
also present to provide staff support to the Council.
President Maupin announced that the Study Session was for the Council to hear presentations on
upcoming agenda items. It was further announced that this Study Session was open to the public, but
there would be no opportunities for input or participation; that no action will be taken, and the content of
these items is subject to change.
A. NO DISCUSSION PLANNED - The following are budgeted items or have been reviewed by the
appropriate Council Committee; and will be placed on the next Council Meeting Agenda for action:
1. Automatic License Plate Recognition Program Grant - Police Chief Craig Rogers; and Brad
Gehring, Public Safety & Parks Committee Chair General Business
B. FULL DISCUSSION ITEMS
2. Proposed public hearing and ordinance on Annexation and Interim Zoning Controls for territory in
the South Kitsap Industrial Area Urban Growth Area known as "SKIA South" - Andrea Spencer,
Community Development Director; and Dianne Robinson, Planning Committee Chair Public
Hearing
3. Proposed public hearing and resolution, declaring certain Public Utility Property Surplus and
approving a negotiated sale - Phil VVilliams, Public VVorks & Utilities Director; Bill McKinney,
Forestry Manager; and Cecil McConnell, Public VVorks Committee Chair Public Hearing
4. Proposed ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 5032 relating to the City of Bremerton's 2008 Annual
Budget - Laura Lyon, Finance Director; and Nick VVofford, Finance Committee Chair General
Business
It was noted that Council Members Adam Brockus, Roy Runyon, and Mike Shepherd left the Study
Session at approx. 6:00 PM.
C. GENERAL COUNCIL BUSINESS
President Maupin invited Council Members to provide individual committee reports.
VVith no further business, President Maupin adjourned the Council Study Session at 6:45 PM.
