SUMMARY: Three written proposals were received in response to a request from the City for
furnishing sodium hypochlorite to the Westside WWTP. OLIN CHLOR ALKALI Products in
Walnut Creek, CA submitted the lowest responsive proposal at 65.9 cents/gallon delivered, including
tax. The proposal quotes a fixed price for a period of one year from the time the agreement is
accepted in writing by the City.
ATTACHMENTS: Sodium Hypochlorite proposals from OLIN CHLOR ALKALI Products, HASA
Inc., and JCI Jones Chemicals Inc.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The WWTP consumes approximately 150,000
gallons per year of 12.5% hypochlorite. This results in an estimated total one-year purchase of
approximately $100,000. Purchase of this product is budgeted through the WWTP Operations Budget
