SUMMARY: The Department of Community Development has selected NAC Architecture to work
on the Collaborative School Siting Project with City Staff and The Bremerton School District. The
study will develop conceptual ideas for collocation of a new Middle School that includes community
functions in West Bremerton. The study will include public outreach, review of site locations,
program development and funding opportunities, and development of conceptual site plans.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Total contract amount not to exceed One hundred
and Twenty Five thousand dollars ($125,000). DCD was awarded the Competitive Growth
Management Act Planning Grant from CTED in October 2007, to cover the cost of this study
($125,000).

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to Amend 2008 General Fund budget for revenue and
expenditures in the total amount of One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000), and
approve the Professional Services Agreement with NAC Architecture to develop the Collaborative
School Siting Project and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the contract in substantially the
same form as presented.
