GENERAL BUSINESS
7A - RESOLUTION NO. 3058. ESTABLISHING A SMALL WORKS ROSTER PROCESS WITH
MUNICIPAL RESEARCH SERVICES CENTER (#AB08-115): City Clerk Carol Etaen summarized that
the Revised Code of Washington Chapter 39.04.155 allows cities to establish a small works roster for
different specialties or categories of anticipated work. Traditionally, local municipalities have managed
or funded small public works contractor rosters. The Municipal Research Services Center (MRSC) has
developed MRSC Rosters, a statewide shared roster system to provide municipalities with a cost-
effective and more efficient way to search for potential bidders, and one which offers a more convenient
way to market their services to municipalities statewide.
In order to join the MRSC Rosters, Council must adopt a resolution establishing a Small Works Roster
process to award public works contracts and a Consulting Services Roster for architectural, engineering,
and other professional services. A contract between MRSC and the City will then be executed. The
cost for services fot a city our size is $500 per year. Local businesses were encouraged to register at
www.mrsc.orQ.
There were no comments from the public. . .
Mr. Brockus explained that he would abstain from the vote because the company he works for will
probably register for this small works roster.
Mr. Gehrina and Mr. Runvon expressed their comments in support of this service, noting several of the
benefits that would be provided to companies registered on the Small Works Roster.
06:08:20 M/S/C (Runyon/Shepherd) Move to adopt Resolution No. 3058 establishing a small works
roster process to award public works contracts and a consulting services roster for architectural,
engineering, and other professional services.
