SUMMARY: The Washington Traffic Safety Commission grant provides funding ($45,090.40) to purchase two
motorcycles that will be used to reduce traffic-related collisions, injuries and deaths. To meet in-kind match requirements,
the Department will employ directed patrols in school zone enforcement.
ATTACHMENTS: Award Letter
FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The City will receive $45,090.40. Included in the grant funds is a
five year prepaid maintenance agreement that cost $3,225.09 for each motorcycle. Also, for each motorcycle, the
Department will deposit $4,200.00 per year for the next five years in the Equipment Rental and Reserve Fund. The
expenditures will be included in the 2009 proposed budget
