SUMMARY: This is an agreement between the City of Bremerton and Handlers Racing Association
to provide one fire engine with a firefighter and one firefighter/EMT, at a minimum, on each race
date. South Kitsap Fire & Rescue has been providing this service for a number of years, but it has now
placed a strain on their services to fill these positions every weekend from April till October. The
Handlers Racing Association is reimbursing the City at a rate of$100.00 an hour. The Fire
Department shall then hire individuals on overtime to cover the event and not take away from the on-
duty staffing.
ATTACHMENTS: Agreement between the City of Bremerton and Handlers Racing Association.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This Agreement will generate approximately
$18,300 in revenues and corresponding expenditures in the Fire Department.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the Basic Life Support Services Agreement
Between the City of Bremerton and Handlers Racing Association with a corresponding budget
adjustment and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the Agreement with substantially the same
terms and conditions as presented.
