RESOLUTION NO. 3055
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, approving the Blueberry Park Master
Plan.
WHEREAS, the City purchased the undeveloped property in 1979 with the
intention of developing a neighborhood park, and
WHEREAS, the City obtained $195,170 grant funding from Department of
Ecology and $201,510 from the Recreation and Conservation Office in 2007 for the purpose of
developing a neighborhood park; and
WHEREAS, the City developed proposed concept plans for consideration for the
park; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department held a public meeting on
December 19th, 2007 at the adjacent Armin Jahr Elementary School to solicit citizen input; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department solicited neighborhood input
through a mail out survey in January 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department developed a proposed plan
based on the community input and held a second public meeting on January 29th, 2008 at the
Parks and Recreation Commission meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission held a third public meeting on
February 26th, 2008 to review the Plan updates and provide feedback on the proposed Master
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission Board unanimously approved
the Master Plan at the third public meeting on February 26th, 2008 and recommended approval of
the Plan by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on April 2nd, 2008, the City Council held a public hearing on the
Blueberry Park Master Plan; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The recitals set forth in this resolution are hereby incorporated as if
fully set forth herein.

SECTION 2. The Blueberry Park Master Plan attached hereto as Exhibit A and
incorporated herein by this reference is hereby approved as the Blueberry Park Master Plan.
SECTION 3. Severability. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
