regarding exchange of First Response Fire
Protection and EMS Services

SUMMARY: The Fire Department established an Interlocal Agreement with South Kitsap Fire &
Rescue in April of 2007 to provide first response to Navy Yard City and Rocky Point. In exchange
SKFR would provide first response to the Gold Mountain area. In January of 2008 the contract was
re-evaluated in terms of compensation. Both parties have agreed to increase the service fees from
$500.00 a call to $650.00 a call.
ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit C - Amendment # 1
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The proposed increase would generate an
additional $60,000 in revenue to correspond with $60,000 in expenditures. This will require a budget
amendment to increase revenues and expenditures in 2008.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: : Move to approve the amendment to the Interlocal Agreement
between the City of Bremerton and South Kitsap Fire & Rescue with a corresponding budget
adjustment and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the Agreement with substantially the same
terms and conditions as presented.
