SUMMARY: The Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program is prepared pursuant to RCW
35.77.010 and RCW 36.81.121. The Plan is updated annually and filed with the Secretary of
Transportation, Local Programs Office. It is intended as a planning tool for the local, State and
Federal transportation funding entities. The attached plan has been prepared for City Council
approval by Resolution and will be submitted to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
This Transportation Improvement Program and Capital Improvement Program are consistent with
Bremerton's Comprehensive Plan and new Non-Motorized Transportation Plan.

FISCAL IMPACTS: None. The 2008-2013 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan is a
planning tool that is implemented through the annual Capital Improvement Program.
Annual adoption of a Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program is required by State law and is a
requirement to receive certain State and Federal Transportation funds. $23,242,000 is programmed
over the 6 year period, subject to available funding.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Motion to approve Resolution No. 304B , which approves the
City's 2008-2013 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan, and direct the Mayor to forward the
Resolution and Plan to the Department of Transportation, Local Programs Office.
