SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton Department of Public Works and Utilities is the recipient of a
$75,000 grant entitled "Bremerton Local Government Stormwater Grant G0800088" from the
Washington Department of Ecology for $75,000. The purpose of the grant is to assist local
government in implementing provisions of the Nation Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES)-Westem Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater permit that became effective January
17,2007.
The Department intends to use approximately $15,000 for mapping equipment and software, $37,500
for personnel costs associated with mapping the City's stormwater collection system, and $22,500 for
Community Outreach and Education Activities.
ATTACHMENTS: Council Summary
FISCAL IMP ACTS: This grant is a $75,000 increase to revenues and expenditures in the
Department of Public Works 2008 Stormwater fund budget. No matching funds are required. The
work funded by this grant needs to be completed by June 30, 2009.
