SUMMARY: In 2005 and 2006, the City applied for five grants administered by the Washington
State Recreation and Conservation Office; four for the Bremerton Boardwalk Project and one for
Blueberry Park. Each of the 5 grants competed successfully and have been offered to the City.. The
grants for the Bremerton Boardwalk include a $2,000,000 Wildlife and Recreation Program - Trails
(WWRP-TR) grant, a $300,000 WWRP - Local Parks Grant (WWRP-LP), a $500,000 Aquatic Lands
Enhancement Account (ALE A) grant, and a $100,000 Land and Water Conservation (L WCF) grant.
The grant for Blueberry Park improvement is a $201,500 LCWF award.. The requested action before
the City Council is approval of Grant Funding from the Recreation and Conservation Office for the
Bremerton Boardwalk and Blueberry Park.

FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The Grants provide partial funding for the
Bremerton Boardwalk and Blueberry Parks Projects, and are included in the 2008 budgets for both
projects.
