SUMMARY: The Director of DCD proposes to offer the vacant Long Range Senior Planner position
to Geoffrey Wentlandt, currently a Planner II within DCD. Geoffhas been with the city since early
2005, he has grown with this organization, and has shown great dedication and ability to manage
complex planning projects.
Geoffis currently a Teamster represented employee at the mid point of his pay band, and at present
earns more than Rate 2 of the pay band for Senior Planner. The proposed placement of Geoffinto the
Management! Professional exempt position of Senior Planner at Band 11 Rate 4 allows for an
approximate 5% salary increase.

FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The higher starting salary can be accommodated
