Hello I'm Lynette George, a mother of two sons that were concurrently serving two tours
in Iraq. I've started a non-profit organization here in Kitsap County called the "Blue Star
Banner Program of Kitsap County" (BSBP). It was started to display our support for our
"local" Military by hanging 6-foot "Blue Star" Street banners in our communities of
Bremerton, Poulsbo, Port Orchard and Silverdale. This would recognize each of our
"local" Military proudly serving our Country in the Armed Forces protecting our
Freedom.
Weare also honoring our "local" soldiers that were killed in the line of duty by hanging
"Gold Star" banners. In December 2006 we raised three "Gold Star" banners for each of
our "local" soldiers killed. One in Port Orchard for Devon Gibbons on Mile Hill Drive
and two in Bremerton one for Christopher Bunda and the other for Michael Burbank
(they are currently on the Warren Avenue bridge). Unfortunately we have two more
"Gold Star" banners to display one in Port Orchard and one in Bremerton.
My inspiration for this Program came from visiting Temple City, California, a suburb of
Los Angeles. They had a street, miles long displaying these banners similar to what
we've designed for Kitsap County. It is an awe-inspiring display showing their
community's Patriotism on an ongoing basis. This is why I started this non-profit
organization for Kitsap County. As a community we support our Military by conducting
Military appreciation events throughout the year, but we don't show a display of our
support. This act of displaying our Patriotism to our Military will let them know we
Honor them and Thank them daily.
We're asking your business to support this huge undertaking by either sponsoring a
banner (your business name will appear on this banner as the sponsor) or by making a
tax-deductible donation, there's a sponsor form attached for your convenience. These
banners will remain up for as long as the "local" military member is serving our Country
or 3-5 years, which is their life expectancy you may then re-sponsor this banner at that
time. For additional information regarding our "Blue Star Banner Program of Kit sap
County" or to see our banners please visit our web site at www.Kitsapbluestar.org or call
at (360) 440-6497 (cell) or (360) 830-9129.
Thank you for your time and attention, we hope you consider supporting our Program.

Please consider helping create a Marine Protected Area (MP A) Underwater Park, with marine life
habitat, similar to Edmonds Washington Marine Conservation Area Underwater Park, for ECO-

Expansion Project.
