SUMMARY: The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance has requested that the City of Bremerton
participate in funding a Kitsap Baccalaureate Research and Action Project to prepare date for use in
the 2008 legislative session by Kitsap County residents who advocate for a local four-year degree
institution. Kitsap legislators have indicated that such data would be extremely helpful in securing
funding to engage the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board's review. City Council
President Will Maupin recommends that the City contribute $7,000 to this effort and amend the
budget accordingly.
A TT ACHMENTS: Explanatory Proposal
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): $7,000 payment in 2007. This is not budgeted
and will require Council approval to amend the General Fund's Non-Departmental budget. Funds
will come from fund balance.
