SUMMARY: With the retirement ofthe incumbent City Clerk, it is now necessary to appoint a new
individual as Bremerton's City Clerk. A search was conducted and interviews made from a pool of
well qualified candidates. Based on the results of that selection process Carol Etgen has been offered
and has accepted the position of City Clerk for the City of Bremerton. The City Clerk position is
defined in the City Charter as an appointive office and requires confirmation by the City Council. It
is the recommendation ofthe Director of Financial Services that the City Council confirm the
appointment of Carol Etgen as the City Clerk, and affirm that Cherie Henry will continue to serve as
Bremerton's Deputy City Clerk.
