copier/printer that is past the end of its rental
contract.

SUMMARY: The City plans to acquire a Canon iR5185 copier/printer from Ikon Office Solutions,
Inc. on a 5-yeaar operational lease under the terms and conditions of Washington State contract
#03706. The acquisition would replace a Sharp AR650 copier/printer obtained on a 5-year rental in
July 2002 under Washington State contract #05899. The new copier offers both black/white and color
reproduction. By switching black and white reproduction from the machine being replaced and by
switching some color reproduction from the existing Xerox color copier it is anticipated that the City
will achieve a cost saving of at least $1 ,OOO/month in the first year. The lease cost for the new
machine is $363/month, $21,780 plus tax for the five year period. All supplies and maintenance are
provided by paying a per copy cost of $0.04 for color and $0.008 for black& white.

costs of $0.04 color and $0.008 black/white plus tax per copy.
