SUMMARY: This Ordinance under Chapter 2.30 of the Bremerton Municipal Code removes and
exempts from coverage in the Civil Service System all City ofBremerton employees currently
covered by Civil Service except those full time paid employees, including Teamsters employees,
employed by the Police Department and the Fire Department; clarifies duties of the Civil Service
Officer; and amends Section 2.09.020 Director of Financial Services and Division Managers-
Positions created and appointment, to delete ~he reference to Civil Service.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve Ordinance No. 5003, which amends Chapter 2.30
and Section 2.09.020 of the Bremerton Municipal Code and authorize the Mayor to finalize and
execute an amended contract with Teamsters Local 589 with substantially the same terms and
conditions as presented.
