SUMMARY: The Fire/Rescue boat has been in storage for the last three years due to budget
shortfalls. North Wind Marine of Seattle manufactured and has been storing the fire/rescue boat and it
is in the best interests of the City for North Wind Marine to refurbish the boat. The refurbishment will
allow the Department to move forward in re-establishing the water fire/rescue program in Bremerton.
Staff is requesting approval for a sole source contract with North Wind Marine of Seattle for
refurbishment of the fire/rescue boat.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a sole source contract pursuant to BMC 2.76.090
with North Wind Marine of Seattle and authorize the mayor to finalize and execute a contract with
substantially the same terms and conditions as presented in the attached proposal from North Wind
Marine of Seattle.
