SUMMARY: The City Attorney's Office 2007 budget for professional services (54110) was
calculated based on disbursement levels from prior years. However, recent litigation requiring outside
counsel has resulted in a need for additional funds in order to provide the City with necessary and
uniquely experienced outside counsel. Current litigation includes two labor arbitration matters and a
significant land use issue. Staff is requesting a budget adjustment in the amount of $55,000 to fund
the remaining anticipated attorneys' fees for 2007.
ATTACHMENTS: None
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Additional expenditure for the General Fund -
City Attorney's Office of$55,000 above the current budget expectations. The 2007 ending fund
balance will be used to fund this budget adjustment.
