The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City
Council Chambers, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington,
Wednesday, June 27,2007, at 5:30 PM, with Council President Will Maupin presiding. Council
members present were Nick Wofford, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Mike Shepherd, Wendy
Priest, Adam Brockus, Cecil McConnell, and Brad Gehring. Also present were Assistant City Attorney
Ken Bagwell; City Clerk Paula Johnston; and Council Assistant Christine Grenier.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Adam Brockus followed by the invocation
provided by Council Member Carol Arends.
President Maupin announced that consultants presented the "Fire Study" to the Council during a
Study Session from 5:00 to 5:30 PM in the Meeting Chambers; and that City Council would not be
meeting on Wednesday, July 4 due to observance of Independence Day, but would be holding a
Special Meeting on Monday, July 2 at 5:30 PM.
PUBLIC RECOGNITION & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Adam Brockus announced that there would be a Spaghetti Dinner and Auction held at the Manette
Saloon tomorrow from 5:00 to 8:00 PM to benefit the "Manette Beautification Project". For more
information, please contact (360) 377-3747.
Nick Wofford invited the public to participate in the Puget Sound Blood Center's Blood Drive on
Monday, July 2 from 10:00 AM to 1 :00 PM and 1:45 to 4:00 PM in the Meeting Chambers.
Fire Chief AI Duke reminded citizens that the only legal day to discharge fireworks is on Wednesday,
July 4th.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check Numbers 317629 through 317832; and EFT-7207 through EFT-7224 in the amount of
$1,070,187.00 for the period ending June 27,2007; Regular Payroll in the amount of $723,035.63
for the pay period ending June 15, 2007; Retiree Payroll in the amount of $75,349.24 for the pay
period ending June 30,2007 (#AB07-154)
B. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Bremerton and the International
Association of Firefighters Local #437 (#AB07-155)
There were no comments from the public.
