SUMMARY: Expanding the City's floral color program on Callow A venue between Burwell and 9th
Street will beautify a highly visible entryway to Bremerton and help to make the area more attractive
for shopping and commerce.
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting a budget adjustment of $4,400 in supplies to pay
for pole hangers, baskets, flower plugs and planting soil and $3,000 of part-time labor for daily
watering and care of the 28 flower baskets.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Total fiscal impact is $7,400 for 2007. This is an
unbudgeted item for 2007 and will require an amendment to the adopted budget to proceed. Funds
will be provided by the General Fund ending fund balance.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Park and Recreation Department's request for a budget adjustment of $7,400 to
install and maintain 28 pole mounted flower baskets on Callow A venue between Burwell and 9th
Street; and to budget $7,400 from the 2007 General Fund ending balance to the Parks Fund.
