SUMMARY: The Arts Commission is recommending that the City Council select artists for the
preparation of public art at thell.It". Uk; ~nf. CI1.-tI("~ (1025 Burwell Street), a project that is subject
to the 1 % for the Arts program. The Commission has conducted interviews and has entered into
findings and recommends that the City Council chose James Kelsey and James Francis to prepare this
artwork. Upon completion of a scope of work for the art the proposal will be submitted to the City
Council for final approval.

FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Selection of artists for the 1 % program will not
have any financial impacts at this time. Staff will bring forward to Council at a future date a scope of
work and contract following negotiation between the artists and the Arts Commission.
