MUNICIPAL CODE TO UPDATE PROVISIONS RELATING TO PARKS (#AB07-090): Wyn
Birkenthal, Parks & Recreation Director explained that the proposed ordinance updates current
provisions of the Bremerton Municipal Code relating to Parks in order to better utilize City park land in
the Harborside District and to comply with current laws.
Bob Vermeers asked the Council to reconsider the skateboarding restriction since during the last
discussion there was a lot of support for skateboarding in the downtown area.
Mrs. Arends and Mr. McConnell offered comments in support of the ordinance.
Mr. Maupin emphasized that a skate park was built so children would have a place to skateboard
safely rather than cause damage to downtown properties which was happening prior to the
restrictions.

and 13.04 of the Bremerton Municipal Code relating to Parks.
