Minutes read and correoted to show that. Local Improvement District
as created by Ordinance #408 shou1d have been number 53 instaad of 52.
Letter read from Fire Insurance rating 6~fice showing approximate amount
of reduction on instwance rates if salt water mains and other improvements
.were installed; two of the surveyors from' the rating office were present
and MUM were called on for information,which was given;
Motion by Canter and Urban that the matter be referrad to Fire.Ll~ht and
Water Committee and Bldg Committee and the Bldg Inspector; Carr~ed.
Letter from Senator Poindexter to Senator Bryan read advising aim of the
action taken by Navy Department relative to Political activity by certain
Navy Yard Employees; Letter returned to Mr Bryan. .
. Letter Read rrom Dr Taggart o~ Park board asking for appo~ntment of a
committee to cOIlfer with the board in the matter of improvements at the
park. Mayor appointed Councilmen Foss,Calkins and Carter. .
Letter read from C.P.Kimbal1 asking the Counci1 to defer actkon .in the
matter 01' reported unsanitary condition.of certain property on Hkghland Ave.

to place electric sign to extend over sidewalk had not been allowed.

would cost $10.00 each. Motion by Urban and Flieder tl~t a founta~n
be purchased and placed at Pacific near Frontstreet; Carried.

Motion by Arnold and Foss that all rules of proceedure heretofore adopted
by this oouncil,ULnless enacted by Ordinance.are hereby repealed and abollsh.(
ed except that the Council shall be governed by Roberts Rules of Order so
