Bremerton Wash May 29 1911
Regular meeting of the council of the city of Bremertoa.
Called to order by Mayor F.A.Harlow. Present councilmen Crawford,Urban,Milea
Arnold,Buffington,Palmer and FOBS. Minutes of the previous meeting read and
approved.Reading of application from F.A.Mc.Danold and Co. asking perIniesion
to haul dirt over the aide walk.
Moved by Palmer sec. by Buffington that the request be granted. Carried.
Clerk submitted tracing showing streets extended to the inner harbor line.
Moved by Urban sec. by Arnold that the tracing be approved and fowarded to
the land Commissioner at Olympia. Carried.
Clwrk submitted fin~l report on improvement district 47 showing balance due
contractor $381.42. Moved by Arnold sec. by Urban t~At the report be approve
and warrant drawn for the balance due contractor. Carried.
Palmer reported thatit is impossible to get the addresses of all the prperty
owners on Warren street and urged that condemnation proceeding s be started.
Purchasing committee reported that the bid for the printing of the petition
60r the condemnation proceedings had been awareed to the Bremerton News.
Clerk submitted bond of F.A.Mc.Donald and Co. for the work on 9th street
Diatr. 49 . Same was referred to the Atty.
street and Alley committee recomended that the gutter on street be put in
the regular way. Mayor asked that la. Walkinton the Keeper at the park be
appointed a deputy marahal, and made theXappointment.
Moved by Urban sec. by Buffington that the appointment be confirmed. Carried
Mayor also reported that dogs are getting to be nuisance about town.
and that the curfew ordinance should be strictly enforced.
Moved by Arnold sec. by Crawford that the curfew ordinance be strictly
enforced. Carried. Discussion of the dog nuisance.
Moved by Buffington sec. by Urban that the marshall be autharized to employ
such necessary help for two weeks as may be deemed sufficient to catch all
unlicensed dogs. Carried. Building committee instructed to provide the
necessary pens for haueing the dogs untill the same are disposed of.
l4r. J.W.Beyan addre,saed the council on behalf of A.C.Thompson and asked that
the keepers lodge provided for in the contract with Mr. Thompson be erected
at once.
Moved by FOBS sec. by Palmer that the plans of the keepers lodge now before
the council be referred to the~ committee. Carried.~Building

Foss suggested that Mr. Grey be asked to pay for the pUblishing Xoi the
franchise ordinance,
Moved by Foes sec. by Palmer that the clerk forward the hill for the printing
of the franchise ordinance to 1~. Grey. Carried.
Buffington urged that the plumbers be notified to put the streets in better
condition after having made a sewer connection. So ordered.
'Mov~~d by Bu~fington sec, by FOBS that the Ma~or appoint a conwittee to
wait on Admiral Cottman and see what can be done in regard to the salt water
main connection out in the city. Carried
Mayor appointed Buffington,Fos6 and Arnold. J
Buffington asked what restrictions are to be put on the selling of fire works (
on the fourth of July. Moved by Urban sec. by Buffington that the matter be,
referred to the ordinance committee. Carried.
Arnold re~orted that four tapa will be required at the cemetary and that
600 feet of 3/4' inch pipe w1ll be nedded.

and the necessary fittinga!be purchased be the cemenary committee. Carried
