Present counculmen Crawford,UrbantMiles,Arnold, Buffington, Palmer ,Foss. Atty. Moore. Minutes of the previoua*meeting read and approved. Reading of petetion of Carlson and 'Gottstein aSking that the liquor license of M.J.Ford be transferred to them. Moved by Urban sec, by Jules that the transfer be made. Carried. Clerk submitted reportd from city clerks of Kent, Auburn and Puyallup in re building ordinances. referred to the building commdttee. Communication from the city of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce regarding the proposed electric railway to that city read and ordered filed. Reading of comunication from Admiral Cottman relative to the road to the target range south of Port Orchard. Mayor stated that the matter should be attented to at once and suggested that a cOlnmittee be appionted to see what cam be done and to wait on the county commissioners.Moved by Arnold sec. by Buffington that a committee of one be appionted to take the matter up with the county commissioners andaee if the matter can be arranged satisfactorily, also that Port Orchard and EXBK Charlseton be requested to Bppiont a a11nilar committee. Carried Mayor appointedArnold. "Reading of co.mnunication fron the Puget Sound Southern Rail road Co. asking for a franchise for a street railway system in the city of Bremerton. Refferred to the franchise committee. Clerk read extract from the Kiteap County Herald stating that the Grange of this county is contemplating holding a fair this fall and requesting communications offering a Bite for the same, and Buggested that the matter be givenK attention. Moved by Arnold sed. by Palmer that the clerk communicate with the chairman of the fair committee and offer the city park of the city of Bremerton for q fair this fall. Carried. Clerk to ascertain mf park commissioners are willing. Clerk submitted bond of J.E.Mc.Gillivray and N. Mersch as IK sewer contractoB Moved by Miles sec. by Arnold that the bonds be accepted . Carried. street and alley committee recomended that work in district 47 be acceptedl Mr. Me. kay objected to the work being accepted. Kenyon asked that the work be accepted as he had done all the work required under his contract. Moved by Palmer Bec. by~ miles that the work in diatr. 47 be accepted. l~otion lost. street and alley committee reported that no llyn could be found on Highland Ave. in Front of Mr. Smiths houee.Referretto atr. & alley Moved by Buffington Sec. by Miles that council as committee of the waole and the city IlK engineer biew the work in district 47 and determinem what 'if any work must be done to accept the same. Mr. Kenyon stated that the meaaurments of the city Engineer III with measurments taken by his engineer and]{ asked that tlhis be Palmer suggested that another engineer be appointed to check up differences. J~tter of dumping garbage into Dietz lake taken up. Health officer urged that the practice be ordered stopped. Moved by Arnold sec by Miles that signs be ordered put up forbidding the dump ing of garbage into the lake. Paving committe to meet wednesday april 19 at the city hall . Atty. submitted 6omunication stating Bernard ~uinn will accept feet south of his property in lieu of the five feet needed for street. Moved by Urban see by Palmer that the license fee for peddlers be fixed at $ 5.00 per day or ~irty dollars per month, hawkers licence $ 10.00 per day. Third reading ordinance extending Mill street to Sheldon Blvd. and condemnirg the necessary land therefor. FOBS urged that condemnation proceedings on Warren street be started at once as only a part of the land can be s8cured,without such proceedings. Health Officer 'urged that the shacks near the rink be condemned and declared a nuisance. Referred to the health and sanitation committee.
