Oyster Bay Room in the Kitsap Conference
Center.

SUMMARY: The remodel of the OystertBay Room will increase the capacity of the space from 40
to over 70 occupants and will add natural light and outside view as well as revenue. Some of the
remodel specifications include the demolition of the north wall of the Oyster Bay Room, relocation of
existing door, building a new small soffit wall to tie ceilings together, electrical relocation of the fire
alarm strobe and exit sign, security for double door, painting and new carpet.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is an unbudgeted item. Total cost is for this
work is $32,938.00 y;j--r<J::x. ." The Kitsap Conference Center Construction Fund has been closed
out as of December 31,2006. Residual amounts in this fund have now all been transferred to the
General Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 308). The residual funds represent interest earnings and
net remaining funds from the sale of the hotel and restaurant pad. The total remaining funds
transferred to the Capital Improvement Fund was $415;388 of which the City Council has previously
approved the expenditure of $250,000 to construct and equip the annex building to the Naval Museum
(Building 50) to further support the City's Conference Center Operations. The net remaining funds of
$165,388 are available in the fund balance of the General Capital Improvement Fund and are more
than sufficient to cover the costs of this remodel of the Oyster Bay Room in the Kitsap Conference
Center. An amendment to the 2007 budget authorizing the expenditure of $36,000 from the General
Capital Improvement Fund is required.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to approve\-2007 budget amendment authorizing the
expenditure of $36,000 from the General Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 308) and to approve the
contract with OPUS Northwest LLC for the remodel of the Oyster Bay Room in the Kitsap
Conference Center for the proposed price of$32,938.00,\,.D/,G(~-.and authorize the Mayor to
finalize and execute the contract in substantially the same format. }
