SUMMARY: Since 1959 the Bremerton Central Lions Club has been instdtmenta1 in the
development and improvement of Lions Community P1ayfield. The Club's membership has helped
fund the tennis courts, restrooms, play area, ballfield improvements and storage building by donating
cash and 1aboLIn recognition of the fact that Lion's P1ayfield is now a full service community park
providing multiple recreational opportunities including water access, tennis, basketball, athletic
fie1ds,and walking paths the name designation of Lions Park is more inclusive and appropriate than
the current name Lions Community P1ayfie1d.
This naming change will be brought to the Parks and Recreation Board on January 23rd for
recommendation. The item is strongly supported by the Bremerton Central Lions Club.
