SUBJECT: Reclassification of one
Firefighter position to a Lieutenant position.

SUMMARY: The Fire Department is requesting to have one firefighter position converted to a day
shift Lieutenant that would be assigned to training and/or fire prevention. With this reclassifcation the
F!re Department will then be able to expend more resources in training and allow the individual first
hand experience in the fire prevention office. The current position is a relief position that fills long
term disabilities, if that situation arises they will be temporarily transferred back to shift.
