SUMMARY: Sealed bids for construction of the project titled "Auto Center Way Improvements: 6th
Street to Southbound SR 3 On-ramp" were opened on January 3,2007. The engineer's estimate for
construction of the project is $799,213.50. Four bids were received for this project. Construct
Company was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder with a bid of $717,288.73 (including sales
tax).

]~ISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The project is 86.5 percent funded by a grant from
the Federal Highways Administration (FHW A). The remaining 13.5 percent is included in the 2007
Arterial Street Fund Budget. The total construction budget is $904,055.

Move to award a contract in the amount of$717,288.73 (including sales tax) with Construct Company
for construction of the project titled "Auto Center Way Improvements: 6th Street to Southbound SR 3
On-ramp" and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the necessary contract documents for
construction.
