Solutions for Grant Writing Services

SUMMARY: The City contracted with Grant-Solutions on September 20, 2005 in the amount of
$20,000 for limited grant writing services to be performed on a trial basis. Since that time, Grant-
Solution was awarded an Amendment No.1 on April 19, 2006 in the amount of $30,000 to continue
the grant writer services on specific staff approved grants and loans. This Amendment No.2 in the
amount of $30,000, is to extend Grant-Solution's grant writing services on a "project specific basis" as
directed by staff The requested action before City Council is approval of Amendment No.2 in the
amount of $30,000 to the existing amended Contract with Grant-Solutions for continued professional
grant writing services for an amount not to exceed the amended contract amount of $80,000.
ATTACHMENTS: Council Summary & Amendment NO.2 to Professional Services Agreement.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The payment ofthe professional grant writing
services shall be paid for on a "project specific basis". Projects will be initiated "as needed" and
within the Division Managers approved authority requesting such services at the agreed upon hourly
rate in Amendment No.2, Exhibit B.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve Amendment NO.2 to the existing Professional
Services Agreement with Grant-Solutions for professional grant writing services and authorize the
Mayor to finalize and execute the necessary contract documents for the amended agreement.
