SUMMARY: The Department of Community Development currently has several vacancies.
Accordingly, it is an appropriate time to review and change the Department's organization, making
improvements that benefit both employees and the City. The proposed staff reclassifications
eliminates one management position and reclassifies other positions. This will provide more
opportunities to employees for growth within the organization.

The 2006 budget includes approval of authorized staffing levels and position classification. Council
approval is required to change the classifications from that which was previously adopted in the
budget

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The 2006 budget for DCD personnel expenses is
