CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, November 8, 2006
The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City
Council Chambers, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington,
Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 5:30 PM, with Council President Cecil McConnell presiding.
Council members present were Will Maupin, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Mike Shepherd, Wendy
Priest, Adam Brockus, and Brad Gehring. Council Member Nick Wofford was absent. Also present
were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Paula Johnston; and Legislative Assistant Lori Smith.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Brad Gehrinq followed by the invocation
provided by Pastor Eric Roberts of New Life Assembly.
President McConnell made the following announcements...
. A Pre-Council Session to discuss General Council Business was held in Council Conference
Room 603 from 5:00 to 5:30 PM; and included presentations by Gary Sexton, Redevelopment
Projects Administrator on upcoming agenda items;
· Immediately following the Council Meeting, the Council would reconvene in the Council
Conference Room for a STUDY SESSION to hear presentations on upcoming agenda items and the
2007 Budget; and
· Two additional Budget Work Sessions would be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 and
Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 5:00 PM in the Council Conference Room.
PUBLIC RECOGNITION & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Adam Brockus thanked everyone who voted in the Primary Election, and noted that per the
Elections Office at least 40% of registered voters submitted their ballots as of yesterday. He also
invited residents to a Special Meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 6:30 PM at the L.I.D. site
located at E. 1 ih Street & lronsides Avenue to discuss options for the property.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check Numbers 312451 through 312642; and EFT-9340 through EFT-9351 in the amount of
$1,239,678.13; and Regular Payroll in the amount of $717,542.48 for the pay period ending
October 31 , 2006 (#AB06-237)
05:34:45 M/S/C/U (Priest/Arends) Move to approve the CONSENT AGENDA as presented.
With no further business, President McConnell adjourned the Council Meeting at 5:35 PM. The
Council reconvened in the Council Conference Room for a STUDY SESSION to hear presentations on
upcoming agenda items and the 2007 Budget.
