Northwest, Inc. for Lobbying and Consulting
Services

SUMMARY: Commencing in 2006, the scope of work to be performed by Soren Northwest was
expanded beyond lobbying consulting services to include the coordination of the application process
and successful competition for state grants to fund capital projects desired by the City. The 2006
contract was for nine months while these new services were being assessed. Staff recommends that
the existing contract be extended from January 1, 2006 to April 30, 2007 with the total compensation
not to exceed $41,600.
ATTACHMENTS: Contract Modification Agreement No.1 and the original Professional Services
Agreement
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Additional compensation of$7,800 for 2006 is
funded through Economic Development budget and additional compensation of $1 0,400 for 2007 will
be budgeted through General Fund Non-Departmental iscellaneous.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve Contract Modification Agreement No.1 between the City of Bremerton and
Soren Northwest, Inc. for lobbying and consulting services with compensation not to exceed
$41,600 and authorize the Mayor to fmalize and execute this agreement in substantially the
same form as presented.
